Has anyone suggested Houndley and Catina and the Quiet Time, by James Howe, illustrated by Marie-Louise Gay? I especially like that it is a winter story without a Christmas theme.
I love, love, love the Houndsley and Catina books! But Marie-Louise Gay is Canadian, making her ineligible for the Geisel award :(
