I agree with Heather that this graphic novel-style beginning reader was not as confusing. New words were introduced gradually and repeated in a natural-sounding language. And I love the story, I think it has great kid-appeal.
So, it's probably not my favorite on the list, but I do like it.
Children's librarians at the Allen County Public Library sometimes receive Advance Reading Copies and other free books from a variety of publishers. After reading, some of these books find their way onto this blog before being added to the permanent Library collection or given as gifts to the participants in our book programs.

A timeless tale of a stinky monster in need of a friend.
Hilarious! My favorite quote "Well, maybe not a bottomless pit! But it's very deep."
The graphic novel format of this one was not as confusing for me as Otto's Orange Day.

I thought this book was cute. The graphic novel format was simple and fun, I especially loved the toad's little hearts.
I've said this already elsewhere, but this is my favorite of the series so far.
