Talk about a topic kids can relate to! (And adults, too, I would guess). Strong points of this book include wonderful repetition and predictability; more difficult, non-repeated words have picture clues to help the reader along. And, of course, a great storyline and humorous illustrations. And, that "wolf suit" looks familiar...
This happened to me JUST LAST NIGHT so it is certainly a topic I can relate to.
I love this book for all the reasons Kris lists. In addition, I think the pictures can be revisited for further examination & discussion. My favorite spread has to be the "Maybe a SHARK swallowed it!"
I wonder if it's being considered for the Mock Caldecott? I love the way the pictures start the story even before the title page.
Robie Harris has really rocked my world this year!! I have a hard time choosing this as my most favorite early reader...I want my Geisel loves to have more "meat" to them.
