Luke's adventures show the diversity of the city and the range of caring adult responses he encounters. The book presents a clear conflict and a smooth (and funny for adults) resolution. Luke could easily appeal to a wide range of child audiences.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15393481603673253246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6719115146420716647.post-48123049516114391322009-10-26T11:41:39.536-04:002009-10-26T11:41:39.536-04:00Luke on the Loose is packed with action that child...Luke on the Loose is packed with action that children would enjoy. I especially liked seeing the different parts of New York City and how Luke ran around in his own world amidst the busy-ness of the adult crowds.imskimmyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16170559914083284333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6719115146420716647.post-8039347227375289922009-10-21T14:10:50.760-04:002009-10-21T14:10:50.760-04:00This one didn't click for me-- there was so mu...This one didn't click for me-- there was so much running past various people and animals that I was done before the book was. It felt like a really long one trick pony. The text seems to be easier to navigate than others I've seen.

And, I too enjoyed looking for the cartoon characters. Having adult appeal makes it more likely to be read WITH an adult.Krishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17812854599461003966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6719115146420716647.post-33550052214918255582009-06-11T10:41:22.828-04:002009-06-11T10:41:22.828-04:00We love the Toon books in our house. they appeal t...We love the Toon books in our house. they appeal to a wide range of readers of this was no exception. There's a lot to look at in this story. I find my early reader spending as much time reading as actively looking at the pictures and just overall highly engaged in the story.Kim Wierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14638488555874825872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6719115146420716647.post-45785539099037928462009-06-10T21:44:07.019-04:002009-06-10T21:44:07.019-04:00One of my favorite of the Toon books!
